About Me

A graduate of the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver, Kristopher has a Bachelor of Music Performance on the Viola and a minor in Italian as well as a Graduate Certificate of Performance on the Viola from the Lamont School of Music. He studied with Basil Vendryes, the principal violist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, for 5 years.

Kris studied abroad in Milan, Italy at L'università catolica and La scuola civica di musica. He also participated in the Viterbo Opera Festival in Italy the following summer.

Kris started learning how to play the violin when he was 6 years old and played with the Colorado Youth Symphony Orchestra for 8 years. He sat first chair with the Lamont Symphony Orchestra (LSO), performed with orchestras around Denver, Italy, with the Stratus Chamber Orchestra in Prague, and the Klavier Philharmonic in Tokyo. He plays with quartets and small ensembles for weddings, social events, concerts, and more.

He has taught all over the Denver area, both privately and as an assistant to orchestra teachers before, during, and after school hours. He worked with Friends of Chamber Music, City Strings, and Colorado Chamber Orchestra to help underprivileged children learn how to play string instruments.

"Over the last few years i have performed with Kris multiple times and on each occasion he has performed and acted with the utmost professionalism and skill."

"I am an adult who is beginning violin lessons.  Kris is very patient with my fumbling and his sense of humor makes my lessons fun.  I am encouraged, but those times when I am in a slump, Kris is understanding and gives me helpful tips to make learning and playing violin eaisier.  Kris arrives promptly for my lessons and I feel he is a great teacher.  I would recommend him to others."

Bernadette, 54

"I've been taking lessons from Kris for about a year and a half and I have learned much more from him than my previous orchestra teachers.  He helps you with learning things you struggle with and teaches you music of your taste.  He laughs and cracks jokes during practice so it's never a boring class!  He is probably the best teacher I have had.
